Privacy Policy
About this policy
BackTools (com.xernai.backtools) is an Android application published by Xernai. This policy covers the tools-only app, separately from BackCheck. Contact xernaitech@gmail.com with privacy questions.
Information on your device
Calculations run on your device. The app stores pinned tools, sorting and theme preferences, notification settings and local usage counters used for review prompts. Where a tool supports saved records, the entries you choose to save, such as readings, job details, logs and reports, stay in the app's local storage. Purchase identifiers, purchase dates and Pro access status are also stored locally. We do not operate an account system or cloud-sync server for these records.
Analytics and advertising
The app does not include advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services. Xernai does not receive your calculator inputs or saved field records through the app, and does not sell them.
Google Play purchases
Google Play processes payments and provides purchase information so the app can enable or restore eligible Pro access. We do not receive your payment-card details. Google makes order and transaction information available to Xernai for sales reporting, purchase support and refunds. Google handles data under its own privacy policy.
Fonts and network requests
The app uses Google Fonts for interface text. If a required font is not cached, the font package may download it from Google's services. Such a request exposes the device's IP address and ordinary connection information to Google. Calculator entries are not included in font requests. Store purchases, reviews and links you open also communicate with the relevant external service.
Notifications
With your permission, the app schedules daily field tips locally on your device. These are not messages sent from a Xernai server. You can turn notifications off in Android settings.
Sharing, printing and external links
If you export, print or share a result or record using an available tool, you choose the destination. The receiving app, printer or service handles that copy under its own policies. Xernai receives no automatic copy. Reviews are submitted through Google Play; external links open the destination service.
Retention, backups and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it, clear app storage in Android Settings → Apps → BackTools → Storage, or uninstall the app. Android or your device provider may back up or transfer app data according to your device settings; manage those backups separately. Shared or exported copies also need to be deleted separately. Clearing app data does not cancel a Google Play subscription or erase Google's transaction records. There is no Xernai app account to delete. Protect your device with its access controls; we cannot recover records that have no backup.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments or order information you provide. We use these to answer you and resolve the issue, and retain them as needed for support, transaction records and legal obligations. Our email provider processes this correspondence. You may request deletion by emailing xernaitech@gmail.com, subject to records we must retain. Please do not send payment-card details or unnecessary client records.
Children and policy changes
BackTools is intended for professional use by testers, not children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit children's personal data. Contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information. Policy changes appear here with a revised effective date.
